Advertising in excess

So today, i've gone to McDonald's, it was just recently reopened after a full blow renovation took place. Upon my arrival at this trivial place of gathering, a few things caught my eye that annoyed me quite a lot.

We love it already, just give us a break.
Let me walk you through this.

I get to the cash, waiting in line for my order, in the corner of my eye, 3 big screens advertising products. The beauty of it, every 30 seconds each screen would display something else with the brightest background color's I've ever seen. Can't I just stare at the menu without you flashing things in every corner?

While still gazing at the modern renovations they made, I sit and eat my super double cheese burger, watching the news in the back with the help of 4 side to side 40" HDTV's.

Yup that's right, 4 HDTV's side by side. Can't get enough of the news....or ads. Because what really got to me here was the layout. Each opposite side screen had constantly ad's about mcflurry's and coffee, while the news were displayed in the 2 middle screens. But as if I hadn't seen enough, the 2 news screens were compressed to leave a small space of ad for McDonald's to display the time and show their nice yellow logo. Without mentioning the excessive interuptions of the news (honestly around every minute or two) to show me a nice video ad of burger's splashing from above and fries flying out of their red carton holder.

Needless to say I felt quite disturbed when having ad's of burger's flashed in my face after reading that 12 teens had been killed in an incident around my local town, all while eating at said place.

Let's put it this way, ad's are okay, you need them to make sales, but placement is becoming excessive.

What do you guys think? I mean honestly, should reading about people dying really be followed with the attempt to make me buy another double cheese?
